It’s the largest lottery prize ever offered, and if you win, it’s an almost incomprehensible amount of money to wrap your head around. How would you ever spend it?

You can opt to receive your winnings as 30 payments over 29 years, or go for a lump sum cash payment. Either way, you’ll be taxed, but there’ll be plenty left over to live a cashed-up life.

What are the odds of winning?

To win the US Powerball, you have to choose all six lucky numbers, which includes the final Powerball. You choose 5 numbers from 69 and 1 number from 26.

Lottery officials say the odds of winning the US Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million. And you’ve got a 1 in 24.9 chance of winning a smaller prize.
