A 51-year-old man has been has been charged with a weapons offence and public nuisance at a Cairns City nightclub.
The Kelso man has now been banned from the Safe Night Precinct for 30 days after the incident on Saturday morning, when it’s alleged he was removed from a venue before threatening to return with a firearm.
Police allege they found him in a vehicle nearby, shortly after, with a rifle.

The man has been charged with one count each of unlawful possession of weapon and commit public nuisance in licensed premises.
He is due to appear before Cairns Magistrates Court on August 8.
