Investigations are continuing after more envelopes containing suspicious powder were found in Townsville and Ingham.
At least 20 suspicious packages with the white substance inside have been sent to homes, businesses, two churches and two schools in the last four weeks.
Around 8.00am yesterday, emergency services were called to a post office on Sturt Street in Townsville City to reports of white power being delivered in an envelope.
Then around 11.10am, a person in Ingham reported receiving an envelope containing a suspicious powder.
Townsville Crime Services Detective Inspector Jason Shepherd said all the substances reported to police have been tested and none have been hazardous, to date.
“Police have received more than 20 reports from individuals and organisations who have received a suspicious substance in the mail since May 19.”
“All the envelopes are being examined by forensics.
“If anyone receives or has received an anonymous envelope containing white powder, call the police immediately,” Detective Inspector Shepherd said.
Locals are urged not to transport the substance to a police station or any other location, the police will come to you.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is urged to contact police.
