Man charged after alleged stabbing at South Townsville

A man has been charged after allegedly stabbing another man at South Townsville.

Police say a 19-year-old man engaged in a verbal altercation with a 42-year-old man, outside a business, at around 10.30pm on Friday night.

Following the altercation the 42-year-old man sustained stab wounds to the upper thigh, stomach, and chest a short distance away from the venue.

Around 3.20pm Saturday, the 19-year-old Palm Island man was arrested and charged with one count each of wounding, possess property suspected of having been used in connection with the commission of a drug offence and fail to take reasonable care and precautions in respect of syringe or needle.
