Investigations are continuing after a man was shot dead by police in Kirwan.
Police attended an address on Bel Air Avenue around 4.40pm, Friday following reports a man had threatened self-harm.
It’s alleged the man was shot by police after advancing at them whilst armed with a knife around 4.55pm.

Immediate first aid and CPR was provided, however, the 52-year-old man died at the scene.
A crime scene has been declared and police investigations are continuing.
Circumstances surrounding the incident will be investigated by the Ethical Standards Command on behalf of the State Coroner, and the investigation is subject to oversight by the Crime and Corruption Commission
