Building fire at Currajong leaves person in hospital

A person has been hospitalised following a building fire at Currajong this morning.

Four QFES crews were called to the blaze on Cooper Street around 2am.

A QFES Spokesperson says there was a building fire as wheel as burning rubbish in the street.

The fire had been contained around 2.15am, with firefighters remaining at the scene until 6am.

Paramedics have taken a stable patient to Townsville University Hospital as a precaution.
