Investigations are continuing into the homicide of a 47-year-old woman at Garbutt.
Police located the woman’s body at a Garbutt apartment on November 4, following reports officers had received a call for a welfare check from a pay phone.
Investigations indicate a significant incident which resulted in the woman’s death, occurred around October 30.
Detectives from Townsville Criminal Investigative Branch and the Homicide Investigation Unit have launched Operation Whiskey Elmhurst to find new information.
A command centre has been established in Townsville and significant resources have been allocated to investigate all possible circumstances leading up to the incident, locate and arrest the person(s) involved and provide answers for the family.
Police are urging anyone with CCTV on the following streets between 1.00am and 3:30am on October 31, to come forward.
