Exciting news for ” The Office” fans! Peacock has officially given the green light to a brand-new series set in the beloved universe, according to exclusive details from Variety.
The new series is definitely not just a simple reboot, it will be a fresh, mockumentary-style show featuring an all new cast all while holding on to that same beloved universe charm.
For the first time since whispers of the project began in late 2023, we’re finally getting some juicy plot details.
The same iconic documentary crew, famous for bringing us the antics of Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch, is now on a quest for their next big story. They stumble upon a historic Midwestern newspaper gasping for its last breath and the determined publisher rallying volunteer reporters to bring it back to life.
Leading the fresh new cast are Irish talent Domhnall Gleeson, 40 (About Time), and Italian star Sabrina Impacciatore, 56 (The White Lotus).

While we still don’t know whether they’ll be stepping into boss shoes akin to Michael Scott (Steve Carrell) or embodying a new era of Jim (John Krasinski) and Pam (Jenna Fischer), anticipation is sky-high.
Lisa Katz, president of NBCUniversal Entertainment, couldn’t hide her excitement, remarking on the enduring legacy of ‘The Office,’ which continues to win hearts and attract new fans over a decade since its finale on NBC, especially on Peacock.
With Universal Television at the helm, alongside the original creative genius behind Dunder Mifflin Greg Daniels and Michael Koman, this series is set to reinvigorate the Dunder Mifflin universe with a fresh cast, setting, and endless comedic possibilities. Even original UK The Office creators Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant are joining the party as executive producers.
