New footage has been released as detectives investigate a violent carjacking in the Burdekin.
A man and woman are accused of assaulting an 85-year-old man and stealing his Mazda BT-50 at Inkerman last Thursday.
According to police, the pair used a stolen vehicle to block the Bruce Highway, before striking the victim with a metal pole and making off in his ute.
The man suffered lacerations to his arm and was transported to Ayr Hospital in a stable condition.
CCTV footage released by detectives shows the pair and the alleged stolen vehicle at a Bowen service station.
Police say the pair are still on the run after the ute was found abandoned at Proserpine.
Anyone with information or dashcam footage is urged to come forward.
