A man accused of assaulting police has been charged in Townsville.
Police were called to Flinders Lane in the city around 10.30am on Saturday, regarding a noise complaint.
It’s alleged the 44-year-old man became aggressive towards police before an altercation broke out.
The man was tasered twice and arrested, with one officer suffering a cut to the lip.
The man was transported to Townsville University Hospital for medical clearance then transported to Townsville Watchhouse.
Police have since charged him with one count each of serious assault police officer causing bodily harm, serious assault police officer by biting spitting, serious assault police officer, serious assault public officer and commit public nuisance.
He is expected to appear at Townsville Magistrates Court today.
